Journal Entry 6/30/2021

So I have a basic idea of what this grocery list app is going to look like, and I also made my SQL database tool a little more abstract today. All things considered, yesterday was fairly productive — add in that I argued with the insurance companies for a couple hours, got HR paperwork stuff from work figured out, and walked 12 miles, I feel like it was a pretty productive day. No real complaints here — other than the weird vision (which is still trending better) yesterday was a really good day.

I’m going to make this Grocery list app for a portfolio project — while I’m out of work and my eyes suck I’m not sure if I want to start a boot camp or not — but I do want to work in the direction of being a professional developer, hence some projects. The thing is, with 7 of us living under one roof a tool to track groceries might be a good idea in general. We’ll see. The interface will be kind of ghetto to start, but I think I’ll clean it up after I get it to run. I can store it on my own personal site, then everyone in the family will be able to use it. If I can do that, make a “real” webapp from scratch — then maybe I’ll be employable.

I really do like Python as a programming language — been thinking about learning some Swift too — it’s got. somewhat similar syntax and feel — but I don’t know, I really enjoy the simplicity of dynamic typing still. I’m not bitter and burnt out yet I suppose. I just like constructing things.
